Dallas Cowboys-Team Preview
The Dallas Cowboys in the 2011 NFL Football Season will be interesting for the fans to watch. Changes to the roster include the cutting of several starting players to begin the 2011-2012 NFL football season. Marion Barber (rb), Roy Williams (wr), Marc Columbo (rot), Leonard Davis (g) and Kris Brown (k) are out in Dallas.
The defense will be led by Rob Ryan, the brother of NY Jets head Coach Rex Ryan. Can Rob Ryan brings the intensity of his brother to the Cowboys defense? The Ryan Bowl will begin the NFL regular season on a Sunday Night Football game in New York.
The 2011 Cowboys will be better than last year. How much better is yet to be determined. The NFL lock-out has hampered the new players and especially the defense with a new coach and scheme to learn.
The Cowboys will challenge this year for the division, but how far will they go? Can Tony Romo come back from his injury and lead the Cowboys back to the top of the NFC? Can Rob Ryan work a miracle on the Dallas defense was totally collapsed last year? Will Felix Jones remain healthy an entire season and be able to carry the running game?

Dallas Cowboys Offense 2011
Tony Romo returns from his season ending injury from last year and has weapons to target in the passing game. Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten give Tony Romo a strong receiver group with the passing game, but depth may be an issue if an injury takes out a receiver.
Romo must develop the ability to make quicker decisions and not hold onto the ball too long to avoid defensive pass rushes and not force his throws, which end up as interceptions. Tony Romo has one of the top 5 highest regular season passer ratings in the NFL. Can he now take that same game into the playoffs?
Miles Austin and Dez Bryant will be the top wide receivers. Bryant will step into the #2 spot receiver with the departure of Roy Williams. In the games he was able to play last year, he showed glimpses of the talent he has and the star ability he could have.
Dwayne Harris, rookie drafted from East Carolina, has performed well in training camp and preseason and could push Kevin Ogletree for the third receiver spot.
Felix Jones, Tashard Choice and draft pick DeMarco Murry will lead the running game. Expect to have a running game-by-committee in the backfield. A question for the Cowboys will be if Felix Jones can be a lead back and stay healthy for a complete season.
DeMarco Murray smashed the Oklahoma Sooners career records for all-purpose yardage (6,626), points (384), touchdowns (64) and receiving yards by a running back (1,572). Dallas drafted him with the 71st pick. Injuries have been a problem in college, but if he can remain healthy, he can add depth to the Cowboys running game.
Can Rob Ryan turn the Dallas defense around?

Dallas Cowboys Defense 2011
The Cowboys will have the same defensive players from a team defense that fell apart last season. Jerry Jones is hoping the new defensive Coach Rob Ryan, can turn the defense around with the returning cast.
The play of the defense will be key, if the Cowboys want to even think about the playoffs. The Cowboys have to become aggressive and the secondary will need to step it up or it could be another long season.
The NFL Lock-out did not allow for players and the new Defensive Coach Rob Ryan to work on his strategy for the defense. The Cowboy player will have to learn quick the new plays and schemes Ryan will implement.
DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer lead the pass rush and will solid again this year. Third year LB Victor Butler has looked good and will add depth to the pass rush.
The secondary is the weak link in this defense. Terrence Newman and Mike Jenkins are the starting cornerbacks. Orlando Scandrick has looked good in camp and will be needed to help the Dallas secondary if they are to improve.
Free agent safety Abram Elam and Defensive end Kenyon Coleman were brought in to help improve the defense. A few of the drafted rookies may need to step up early in the season and play a role in the team play on defense.

Dallas Cowboys Prime Time TV Schedule
The Dallas Cowboys will be nationally televised on TV 6 times in the 2011 NFL football season. It was some what of a surprise when the schedule came out after the season the Cowboys had last year.
The Cowboys have only one Monday Night Football game scheduled, but it is against their biggest rival, the Washington Redskins. These games between these two teams always are intense and the team records have no true meaning to the type of game played on the field. Look for another great Monday Night Football game between these two NFC East teams.
The Dallas Cowboys are featured in 3 Sunday Night Football games, an NFL Network Football game on a Saturday Night telecast and the traditional Thanksgiving Day Football game.

NFL Prediction-Dallas Cowboys
The NFC East is one of the toughest NFL Divisions in the league year in and year out. The Philadelphia Eagles have added to a team that won the NFC East Division Title in 2010 and will repeat as Division Champions if Michael Vick remains healthy.
The defense has added more weapons to contain their opponents. The Eagles could challenge the Green Bay Packers for NFC supremacy in the 2011-2012 NFL Football season and make a run for the Super Bowl.
The battle for second place will be between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants. The team that can find consistency on both sides of the ball will take second and claim one of the NFC wild card playoff spots.
The New York Giants are an up and down team. They will have to learn to how to keep the intensity for a full 16 game schedule to avoid the late season melt-down that has become a habit for the G-Men. The talent is there on offense and defense, but the defensive collapse of 2010 will need the most attention.
The Dallas Cowboys are banking on this team rebounding after the return of Tony Romo and the hiring of defensive coach Rob Ryan. Head Coach Jason Garrett had the offense playing well in the last half of the 2010 season, but Rob Ryan has a huge task with the defense that is filled with the same players as last year. The secondary could be the Achilles heel for this team.
The Washington Redskins are will once again remain at the bottom of the division. The offense has holes to fill. The defense should be improved, but a last place finish is most likely.
Prediction:
The Dallas Cowboys have an easier football schedule than last year. Expect the Dallas Cowboys to edge out the New York Giants for a second place finish in the NFC East Division. The NFL Playoff race will be far tougher. There are several quality teams that will battle it out for the two wild-card slots. The Cowboys may be a year away from returning to the top of the game and the playoffs.

How will the Dallas Cowboys fare this 2011-2012 NFL Football Season?
See results without votingDallas Cowboys Fans
Dallas Cowboys fans were hyped and excited about making and winning the Super Bowl last season in their home stadium. Then everything went wrong as soon as the season started. A 1-7 start, firing of Wade Phillips as head coach, Tony Romo injured and lost for the season and a secondary that took the season off!
Expectation are lower this year, but still Cowboy fans expect their team to play to win it all every season. The team has talent, but how far will talent take this team? Give your opinion in the poll and make comments below in the comment section for your take on the Dallas Cowboys for the 2011-2012 NFL Football Season.

There are several of us Cowboy fans where I work, and we all agree that if this team, and specifically Tony Romo, do not perform this year, changes will be needed and will happen.

Im an Eagles fan and I agree for the most part with what you have to say. I think that getting Ryan will certainly improve your team, but he'll need to get his kind of guys. Which will happen.
