Shaheen Jafargholi

Shaheen Jafargholi, a 12 yr. old boy from Swansea, Wales performed July 7th, 2009 at the public Michael Jackson Memorial tribute at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Ca.

Smokey Robinson had shared a funny story about not being able to believe someone as young as Michael Jackson, at the time 10 yrs. old, could have pulled off such a rendition of the song “Who’s Lovin’ You”, which Mr. Robinson had written for himself for Motown Records.

Then the young Shaheen Jafargholi took the stage and sang the song. He was very well composed and he awed the crowd with his voice and deliverance. It was a very fitting tribute from someone so young.

Shaheen had been invited by Michael Jackson to perform with him on his U.K. tour. Michael and Shaheen were to duet during Michael’s comeback tour "This Is It" at London’s 02 Arena. After Michael had passed away, the Jackson family contacted Shaheen to personally invite him to perform at the service.

Shaheen had just finished performing with the Britain’s Got Talent tour and had had previously performed as a young Michael Jackson in the touring production of "Thriller Live." Shaheen says that performing the Jackson 5 hit “Who’s Lovin” You on the Britain's Got Talent tour after Michael’s death was very emotional.
